After a while, the Children First organization returned to Sharky’s on the Pier in Venice for their Flip Flops & Fashion fundraiser on November 3.
Supporters gathered in a tent on the beach next to Sharky’s for a fun event that started with mingling and shopping before lunchtime. President and CEO Philip Tavill and Vice President of Philanthropy Jessica Rogers praised the group’s progress during the pandemic before asking sponsors Matt and Krystel Beall to announce the many models for the show’s fashion show. event.
Men, women and children donned tropical and beachy looks and walked the fashion show that covered the tent area.
There was also a special surprise for two employees of Children First. Rogers presented bouquets of flowers in gratitude to Samantha Kingsley and Megan, who spent 11 and seven years with the association, respectively. The pair will be leaving for new positions soon, but were shocked and delighted to
âWe were caught off guard,â Megan said. “It was a big surprise but very significant.”
âWe’ve been a family with this organization since we’ve been here,â Kingsley said. “It was nice to be recognized.”
