Aston Villa moved within a point of the first half of the Premier League with a resounding win over relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday.
Steven Gerrard’s side won 3-1 at Turf Moor as goals from Danny Ings, Emi Buendia and Ollie Watkins put the visitors in charge, before Maxwel Cornet netted Emiliano Martinez’s 12th clean sheet from the campaign with a consolation goal in the second half. The result leaves Burnley dangerously close to the trap with just three games remaining this season.
