After several appearances on the Billboard charts, SB19 continues to gain popularity around the world!
Boy group OPM has secured a top spot in American fashion magazine teen voguejoining K-pop sensation BTS and iconic British band The Beatles.
On July 14, 2022, teen vogue published an article on their website titled “Our Favorite Boy Bands of All Time”, listing 34 global bands from various genres and musical eras.
SB19 was the 18th group on the list.
Joining them are other iconic boy bands such as The Beatles, Boyz II Men, One Direction, Backstreet Boys, Westlife, *NSYNC, Five Seconds of Summer and The Jonas Brothers, among others.
Korean groups BTS, EXO, SEVENTEEN, Big Bang, SHINee, Monsta X and Seo Taiji and the Boys are also on the list.
The article read (published as is): “Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken and Justin are the five members of the Filipino boy band known as SB19.
“They formed in 2016 after winning a talent search and then released a studio album with eight singles.
“They continued to reach heights of popularity in early 2022 with the release of their hit ‘Bazinga.'”
This isn’t the first time SB19 has been recognized by a teen magazine.
In July 2021, Teen Vogue’s Best New Music Friday described SB19’s electronic hip-hop single “Bazinga” as “the hallmark of a great 21st century mash pop”.
“Bazinga” set a record on Billboard’s trending songs chart in January 2021. It broke the record previously held by BTS’ 2021 hit song “Butter.”
SB19 is the first Filipino idol group formed in Korea to gain international recognition. The five-member band consists of Josh, Pablo, Stella, Justin, and Ken.
