Hey there fellow passengers on this thrill ride!

Are we still having fun? I don’t know about you, but I keep screaming “SOMEBODY STOP THIS THING – I WANT TO GET OFF!” All these ups and downs and round rounds make me feel uneasy, I have to tell you. And that last drop was a doozy.

While we wonder what lies on the other side of the next climb or the next turn, let’s close our eyes and take stock of what else is happening. Smell the buttered popcorn and funnel cakes in the air. Feel the warmth of the sun on our face and the wind in our hair. Be grateful to the friend sitting next to us, who holds our hand as we scream on the descents and laugh on the straights.

We cannot control or predict everything. But we can choose to find good in the midst of chaos.


If you’re struggling to ride and struggling to find the right moment, this list won’t solve everything. But maybe it will give you some breathing room and put a smile on your face a few times. And maybe for now, that’s enough.

May we all be as playful and jovial in our later years as this awesome aunt.
